How do I get the results of a query not to open a results sheet but show the results in a form in a text box that has a set number of colums etc?

Thanks.

A.

Hi A,

Can you not bind the form to the query and then bind the textbox to that field.

M-.

Thanks M-

Apologies I'm not that hot on Access.
Could I create a report that would show the results of a query?

HI,

You can achieve this through the access wizard if you wish, just go to to reports new and then select report wizard then select your query in the drop down box below and then follow instructions.

HTH,
M-.

OK, getting there.

If I try to explain what I want.....

I want a button, next to a text box, that when pressed runs a query that puts the results in the text box and doesn't open the horrible query results window! I have created the query and got it to run and open the results window, and that's as far as I am I'm afraid.

a text box that has a set number of colums
Why not using a ListBox instead with RowSource set to the query ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

can you paste your query, or explain how many fields you wish to show with your query result,

M-.

If I use the list box wizard I can select a query and then select the columns I want in the results. However I get the following error when I tell it the columns:

"No value given for one or more required parameters"

Cheers,

A.

This is a parametized query ?

Sorry don't understand. When I run the query which is based on a table (table1), the query is driven by a prompt on column1 from table1.

When you want to grab the query result in your textbox doesn't have a control in the form the value needed for table1.column1 ?
