Query MSMQ (Microsoft Message Queue)

Does anyone know if it's possible to query the MSMQ from SQL?

Yes. You need to install xp_msmq.dll. You can get it from here

http://www.sqlservercentral.com/products/xp_msmq/.

It will allow you to read from and write to MSMQ.

Sorry (new to this stuff)

I see send, receive, and insert. Is there something I can do to basically see the count of messages that are queued?

I don't think so. You'll have to download the messages into the SQL Server. I've never sean a way to count them from within SQL. I've always had to manually go to the Comptuer Managment MMC snapin to see how many are queued.
