I have a query that is a table (made mostly of lookups) 24 of them. With 4 fields from each of the lookup queries, when i run the query access freezes up and i have to use the Ctl+Alt+Break to end task it (or it takes 5 mins + to return the values!).
Is there a way i can get round this ? I need to be able to refernce these extra fileds depending on what the user chooses from the lookups.
Thanks alot,

24 lookups in a query sounds very inefficient. Could you post the query as well as table structures so we might make recommendations of alternate methods? Terry

Ok, I have a full list of products in one table and i have another table (called quotes) that has a lookup to each of the product types in the main table (thruogh a filter query), ie CPU, Fan, Motherboard, Memeory, etc.
So for CPU type in the main table there is 4 or 5 rows of info.
My quotes table allows the user to choose one of these cpu types (via a lookup).
I then need to choose pricing info, part no's, description etc, from the CPU query (filtered from the full list table).
Hence i have a huge number of fields, 24 id's of product and then 4 or 5 associated fields for each product type from the filter queries.

I hope this is clearer, your time is very much appreciated!

further to my previous, the products table is used to build a one unit, so each build could use one of the 24 product types. So each quote needs a choice od CPU, memory, etc.
Thanks again for anytime you can give this.
