When I create a Query using the Design View option in the New Query dialogue box, I get the whole table - not just the fields I have selected.
The wizard works fine & provides a workaround - but I'd appreciate knowing what I've done to my Access
(XP - 10.5815.4219 SP-2)!

Example:
Table: Field1, Field2, Field3 ......
Select for Query: Field2, Field4
Query created by wizard: Field2, Field4
Query in Design view: Field2, Field4, Field1, Field3 ...

I'm up to date with Office Updates & haven't found a keyword in the KB which addresses this issue. An Uninstall/Reinstall hasn't helped either.

In the Query properties window, there is an option for "Output All Fields". That is probably set to "Yes".

Good catch.
