I want to run a crosstab query and a duplicate query off an exisiting query, however, one of the fields does not show up in the selection choices. Why would this happen? What can I do?

Shouldn't be missing. First thing to do is swap to SQL View and type it in by hand and see what error message you get when you run it.

You really need to learn SQL if you are in the world of databases. The simple stuff doesn't take long. The Microsoft site has plenty of articles from beginner to advanced but you should buy some Access manuals.

In the Query-by-Example screen you can select a drop down from the menu bar that says something like "SQL View". This shows the SQL that QBE is generating for you. Locate the the missing field eg Select FieldA, FieldB, YourMissingField, Field D etc

Select and copy that fieldname. Move now to your derived duplicate query and switch to SQL view. Paste in the fieldname. Press the button and see what happens.
