query fails to complete

In access 2000 running a query to make a table in another database (access 97) intermittantly fails to run to completion and hangs.

Both dbs are in the same folder on a drive.

Any clues as to why? Could it be a compatability issue?

IS the issue isolated to a single PC. Can the issue be reproduced on another PC? It could be how MS Access 2000 and MS Access 97 are installed on the PC. I;ve had issues with an occassional users perfromign a similar function. It was always specific to the PC. Re-install of MS Access-97 and/or MS Access-2000 seemed to resolve my issues. htwh,
