I am getting an error that states "Cannot join on Memo, OLE, or Hyperlink Object." What should I look for in an attempt to debug this and any other solutions.

Thanks
Andrew

There's no debugging involved. You are trying to include a Memo field in a join or relationship. Access 97 (Jet 3.5) doesn't do that.

Access 2000 (Jet 4.0) or later will join on the first 256 characters of a Memo field, so you could perhaps upgrade. Other than that, you need to take the memo field out of the JOIN clause or relationship.

It may be possible to obtain the results you want at the time you use the relationship, by matching the memo fields in your criteria or WHERE clause. This will depend on the details of your tables, their keys, and what your intent is at the time.

Yes thank you. I imported a table that created a memo field that didn't confer with a text field I was attempting to relate it to.
