Hello,

We're running Exchange 2003. We've just recieved a Public Records Act request and have 10 days to comply. This request involves about 40 staff members and I can't fathom having to search through each mailbox for the various items. Is there a way, or a third party utility, to search and query the entire Information Store?

Thank you in advance.

3rd party archiving solutions would certainly help with this, but it would be difficult to review, purchase, purchase & provision hardware, install, then archive all of your data & do an eDiscovery search within 10 days.

Archiving for compliance & eDiscovery is a major project that takes a fair amount of work, forsight, and organizational decision making.

There are some cheap "tools" out there that will do various types of searches, but you're still going to have to do a ton of various searches to cover all of the combinations you'll need to provide for compliance in this matter. 3rd party archiving/eDiscovery installations would provide for a more robust, feature rich eDiscovery search experience including flagging, tagging, searches within searches, time frames, specific user threads, specific folders, and more.
