Hi

I am designing a very basic query and i want to alter or modify the query so that there are no duplicates in the

Surname, forename and postcode fields

Does anybody know how i would accomplish this? I have tried using the unique values and unique records in the properties box but it does not seem to work on specfic fields if anybody out there knows please could you help me.

Thank you very much.

Go to the Query Tab

Click on New

You should get a list and one of them is "Find Duplicates Query Wizard"

follow the wizard and you will get the results you are looking for.

This is the simplest way!!

You will need to click on the Sigma (Totals) button on the toolbar in your query design view. Then in each of the fields where you need to suppress duplicates, set:
Code:
Total = Group By
For fields you do not want to group by, you will need to set the Total = to something else, like Sum, Min, Max, etc...
