I am experiencing issues with queries that open instantly in SQL view but when you go into design view it can take up to 5 minutes to load. The tables are linked to a SQL db and name auto correct etc. is switched off. This is something we've only recently experienced to any great extent. Has anyone got any ideas as to why this could be?

thanks

I would keep a persistent connection to the back end. Have a table with a single field. Bind a form to this table and hide it. My mutli user database all do this. The db opens, checks the links, relinks if necessary, then binds a hidden form.
