query CIM database

I am trying to setup an intergration between Visio and CIM. I would like to be able to query the data from the CIM database from Visio so my rack diagrams contain serial number information and server specs. I know I can enter all of this data into Visio by hand... but umm there are too many.

Does anybody know if and how this is done?

An old post, not sure if you ever figured this out, or still listening.

I never did this, but one tidbit is that CIM uses a Borland database engine. (Try installing CIM and Crystal Reports on the same admin workstation -- how do you spell rebuild??)
