I have a stored procedure that queries 2 sql servers. This query used to take < 2 minutes to run. Now, I've been waiting 10 minutes and it still has not returned any data (try and stop the query and it takes 2-3 minutes to stop).

Each weekend, there is database maintenance that is run (no issues). THe CPU and memory usage on the servers while this query is running is insignificant. We have the same amount of data in the tables that the sp is accessing now as we did last week (when it ran fast). Nothing environmental has changed, that we are aware of.

I have run the estimated execution plan, but I don't really understand how to interpret it (as the CPU and memory are not an issue).

Is there anything else I can check to see why none of these complex queries run anymore?

I am wondering during your "maintanence" if someone has accidentally dropped an index. In you execuction plan look for the object that seems to have the highest percentage. I bet you will find there is a table scan possibly happening.

Thanks
