I am reasonably new to NetWorker, and struggling with what to put in a directive so that the removable storage database is not backed up.

We have NetWorker 7.2.1 Build 311 backing up Windows 2000 servers. On some of those servers, the Removable Storage service has been disabled. The error message I get in savegrp.log is as follows:

SYSTEM DB:\ Removable Storage Database - rsmow: Could not start RSM service for backup operation
SYSTEM DB:\ Removable Storage Database - Error saving

Our third party reporting software sees this as a partial backup and I have been tasked to reduce the number of partials.

These servers belong to a customer, whose change process is enough to make you lose the will to live, so I can't enable the service, nor can I remove SYSTEM DB from the backup.

I have been successful using directives to exclude other files, but cannot for the life of me work out how to exclude the Removable Storage Database. I have read the manuals and searched here, but can't find anything. Could someone please help me?

Please have a look at threads 737771 & 1086170.
