querstion about maint. plan

Hello, I've got a sql 2005 server that someone set up maint plans for backups to occur to a network share.

However, the delete old files task isn't working.

Does anyone here know if it's valid to use the maint. plan to delete the files on the network?

yes it should work. I bet the maint plan is failing before it gets to the clean up task.

Nah, I'll bet it worked and then you applied a service pack and now it won't work anymore. There was a bug that one of the service packs 'messed up' the 2005 maint plans. I suggest dropping it and recreating it.
