I'm about to take my first Quark files to the printer. Quark 5. Most printers always ask for the Quark file AND the fonts. In Quark when I select "Collect For Output" does this automatically put the Quark files and fonts in a file together?
I'm asking this because, After I do this, I open that file I just put on the disk, and there is no indication that the fonts were copied.
Are the fonts on this new single saved file?

thanks for the help again.

Fonts are separate from the Quark document.

You may want to investigate if your printer accepts PDF for print (and you have Acrobat). Creating press-ready PDFs is the way to go since they include all of your fonts, graphics and layout in one tidy little PDF.

You can by an add on to Quark (Xtension) that will collect the fonts for you as well. Check out Xchange.com!

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Quark 5 can collect fonts as well as everything else needed for your document. In the Collect for Output dialog box, there are six check boxes that indicate what's collected. Two of them relate to fonts. If you're unsure, check everything, then collect. A message box will appear with some legal nonsense about fonts. Just click ok and everything will be collected in their own folders.
