I have bulleted text in a paragraph and need to decrease the space between lines when one bulleted statement goes onto more than one line, but not change the spacing between the all bullets.

for example, in the text I've typed below, I need to reduce the space between the lines "Be informed" and "unanticipated outcomes" but still maintain consistent leading between all separate bullets.

I.E.
* Be informaed about the outcomes of care, including unanticipated outcomes.
*Have your decisions respected.
*State what is best for you.

Note the difference between leading and paragraph spacing.

The distance between the lines of the same paragraph/bullet will be handled with leading.

The distance between paragraphs/bullets should be done with pargragph spacing.

Sounds like you have used leading to space the bullet points instead of using paragraph spacing. Am I correct?

In case you don't know, because it amazes me how many people don't.

When you press RETURN, that's a paragraph break.

If you just want a new line within the same paragraph, press SHIFT+RETURN, also known as a soft return. This will give a line break, but not start a new paragraph.

Apologies if I am teaching you to suck eggs but as I said it astonishes me how many a don't know the difference.

In short, for bullets, keep the leading as you wish, i.e. 12 pt type w/14pt leading.

Then go to FORMATS, and add space after. This will keep each bullet tight and put the space between. Then make this a paragraph style and it will always work easily.

As said before, yes, it looks like you were using leading to space out the bullets. I see this all over, especially in advertising junk I get in the mail. So easy to do
