I'm trying to remove background color from an image I want to place on a Quark page. I have been unable to do so with .jpg or .tif files.

As suggested by spamjim, I used Photoshop to convert a .jpg with erased background to a .psd.

When I tried to place the graphic, Quark did not recognize the .psd file. Is there an alternative format that 1) will let me keep the transparent background 2) Quark can deal with?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ooops... skimming too quickly through the original post I thought QuarkXPress 8 was being used.

Eidetix, consider keeping follow-up discussion in the original thread so that others that come here later are not lost on the context of the issue.
