Is this common. When I click print Quark 6 shuts down. I have a 500 page doc I was working on in 5. I had trouble in 5 so I purchased 6. Now I can't do anything and its time to go to print. I'm switching to Indesign.

First you might consider downloading the free Q6.5 update from Quark.com which fixes many of the myriad problems with 6.

Neither should be causing you machine to freeze at print. Can you print a postscript file to your computer for distilling? If yes, the problem is probably more slosely related to your printer. Make sure you have the proper printer and PPD (if applicable) selected before you hit the print buttom.

And yes, ID is far less problematical, but you'll have to get used to the new interface and the diffferent way ID handles different elements.

Forgot something, Try moving Quark Vista from the extensions folder (in the main Quark folder) to Extensions disabled. Start Quark and see if this helps.. Vista has casued many problems for many people.

You may be using a bad font. Try closing all your fonts and see if it prints that way or try printing batches at a time. If so, happy hunting

I can't print batches becasue it closes before it opens the print options. Thanks.
