This info is from the following link that I googled.
Horizontal toolbars mode is supported on Windows, to switch between horizontal and vertical simply double-click on the toolbar's window title bar while pressing the Control key. Going from horizontal to vertical may be a bit tricky (especially on Windows XP) because there's very few pixels left (the big 'X' takes up most of the real estate).
Horizontal toolbars mode is NOT supported on the Mac. I don't have details on this, sorry.
I don't know if it is true or not as I am using Quark 6.52 on OS 10.4.11 and cannot make my tool bar go horizontal.
