Quark 5 very slow

Quark 5 when opening documents is very slow and when cutting and pasting text crashes.

Have you updated it to 5.01? Check quarks web site to see if that will fix those problems.

Yes I have upgraded to 5.01 version

Could be a corrupt font or prefs file.

I deleted all prefs for quark 5. It cannot be a corrupted file because it works fine in 4. I cannot use 4 because my department is on 5.

try bumping up the memory in Quark. There might not be enough RAM assigned to it?

I tried bumping up the memory, replacing fonts, reinstalling. Has anyone had trouble with selecting all text with style sheets?

try downloading FontAgent (

http://www.zdnet.com.au/downloads/pc/swinfo/0,2000036746,8551643,00.htm)

to see if it's a font problem.

another suggestion would be that the xTension may not be configured correctly in Quark. Go to utilities>xTensions manager and see that the text xTensions are active and the paths are correct. Also try Utilities>Usage and see if there's anything funny going on there.
