Is there a way to quarantine all emails with viruses in Symantec Mail security 4.0, but NOT have the email pass through to the user?

The way we have it setup now is that it quarantines the message to our quarantine server, the body of the message still goes through, with the infected attachment stripped out.

I want to set it so that the email still gets quarantined for review, but the user doesn't get the message at all.

Thanks,

In the configuration of the policies you should be able to tell it what todo with messages that have virii in them. I have used version 4 yet but in an older version of it you have the following options for mail

When a virus is detected

Repair attachment/message body
Quarantine attachment/message body, replace with text description
Delete attachment/message body, replace with text description
Delete entire message
Log and make message unavailable with Auto-Protect enabled
Log only (attachment/message body available)

Then below that you have email notification option deselect the one where it sends it to recipients.

This is all under Policies > Virus SubPolicy > Basic Virus Rule

Hope this helps
