Quantum DX100 - Can it be used as normal san disk?

We're decommissioning a DX100 with 10 external disk chassis. Haven't played with quantum virtual tape, at all but wanted to know if there was any means to use the disk as normal storage for a couple hosts in a lab environment? Don't really like tossing the full rack if it can be used at all.
