I need to tinker with com port settings in Windows XP Home to troubleshoot a communications problem with this 4 port PCMCIA adapter. I've used the equipment on another laptop and had no issues. However I just got this Toshiba laptop and it doesn't seem to communicate with the device I am linking it up to. The drivers installed with no problems and I'm thinking it may have something to do with the lack of built in serial port on this particular laptop. I've purchased a parallel to serial adapter with hopes that the serial loopback they supplied would resolve the issue. If anyone has any experience with Windows XP, Serial, Com ports could give me some direction, it'd be very appreciated.
