quality of fonts in win 10

Since switching to win 10 some of my screen fonts are terrible see attachment. I have tried playing via the control panel/display but it doesnt help

It looks a bit like the result of several "font security fixes" we've seen from time to time for many versions of Windows.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The clear type wizard didn't change the problem. My screen drivers are up to date.
What's interesting (see attachment)is that in the screen on the left the font is fine but in the screen on the right is fuzzy. Both screen were in response to opening up windows Explorer.

Perhaps your machine would have benefitted from a Clean Install of Windows 10? That way it would not have to carry across the excess baggage from earlier Windows?

All the suggestions refer to when ALL the fonts are off. My issue is that for the most part the fonts are fine which I assume means clear font is doing its job but occassionally I get those odd fonts. I can't tie it down to any particular application.

I tried a safe mode reboot but hit a snag. I need a password (not Microsoft login) which I cant remember. I tried a few suggestions from google but none seem to get me past that blockag.

Any suggestions?

Can you enable the Built-in Administrator (from a Normal Mode Command Prompt) which might have a Blank Password and Logon with that in to Safe Mode?

You could just create a Local User when in Normal Mode and use that for Safe Mode.

Can your Microsoft Account log in to "Safe Mode with Networking"? You might have to wait a few minutes for the User to appear on that Login Screen.

Ok. I really appreciate your patience and help. Have set up and administrator account and can get into safe mode. As far as I can tell the font issue does not appear in safe mode.

So now you have provisionally isolated the cause to either a corrupted user profile, or something that is running in Normal Mode but not in Safe Mode.

What happens if you create another user and test with that?
