Quake 2 compiles but wont execute

i downloaded the quake 2 source code(its been posted by ID nothing illegal) and did a batch build for all(only way i could compile it except one by one) it all compiles and i get a quake2.exe file but when i try and run it the file it says couldn't go back to software refresh.

whats wrong
