I have the following scenario.

running a 3300 with release 6.1 and a quad bri on a LX controller

the bri work fine for outgoing calls however incoming calls are doing something funny. whenever the system is idle for roughly 5 min, in other words no incoming calls on the bri, and a call does come in after this idle time the call fails. the caller hears ringback but it doesn't actually ring anywhere on the system. if the next call comes in before the 5 min or so the phone rings.

incoming calls only fail if the system has been idle for 5 min or so. I ran a CCS trace and I get a error 7 disconnect. I looked at the CCS trace document and this indicates a busy route or busy resource. this doesn't make sense as there is nothing busy on the system. an initial call will fail but subsequent calls ring through no problem.

any ideas

I have not done any work on the 3300 but was wondering if your SPIDs on the network match what you have programmed in the switch.

Have you got your trunks setup to point to point or point to multipoint

they should be set to point to point but also check with your telco as well.
