Does the Cisco support QSIG over IP trunks? I read somewhere that it does not. We are having problems passing ANI from Avaya to Cisco via H.323 trunks.
What sort of problems? We have a Mitel SX2000 tied to the Cisco uning Q.SIG -
Caller ID issues depend on where your PSTN trunks are terminated. If they're terminated on the Cisco then expect calling NAME delivery problems on the Avaya. Conversely, if your PSTN trunks are terminated on the Avaya, then expect CNID issues on the Cisco. We were able to mitigate this somewhat by switching to MGCP or Combo/both, but the solution is to get rid of the intermachine tie trunks.
QSIG is a lot of things but it's not perfect. It is what it is, a compromise. QSIG passes CF Reason codes and MWI both ways without a hitch, but CallerID is problematic. Problems will go away when you turn off the Avaya and have your PSTN trunks on the Cisco (Assuming you're migrating from Avaya to Cisco)
In call manager under the gateway configuration do you have the redecting number IE delivery checked for inbound and outbound calls? Make sure it is checked.
