I have an Avaya (G3 Si Ver 11) and a Cisco Call Manager. I have my outbound trunks on the Cisco side and use QSIG (1 trunk group with 2 DS1 cards for a total of 46 channels) on the Avaya. When calling from the Avaya to a Cisco (phone to phone) the CLID information is passed, but when calling out on the Cisco trunks nothing is passed from the Avaya side. When tracing the trunk group, I see the calls but it is not sending the Caller ID (DID info) out. What could be blocking the passing of the info on the Avaya side or possibly the Cisco side?

what is the configuration on your page 3? are u sending the digits over to far-end? Have you defined your public unknown number going out to this trunk?

Specify the digits that you want to advertise on the far-end on the public unknown numbering table. Specify the tieline, the starting digits of the extension you want to advertise and thats it.

Can i see your signaling config as well?

What command do you need for the signaling info? Also do you have an example of the digits to specify for the numbering table?

Did you check your public unknown numbering table as Uzumaki suggested? Depending on the version of your software the command could be a little different.

Try either:

change isdn public

or

change public 1

Here's a brief example:

change public-unknown-numbering 1 Page 1 of 2
NUMBERING - PUBLIC/UNKNOWN FORMAT
Total
Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len
Total Administered: 4
4 1 1 763255 10 Maximum Entries: 9999
4 1 2 4
4 1 10 4
4 1 20 4

Now, after that, I'd trace the activity on the Tie trunks between the Avaya and the Cisco and then consult with your Cisco person to see what's going on in those translations.

Thanks for the info! I was ablke to do some testing last night and this is what I found:

When calling out from the Avaya to the PSTN, the phone is passing out it's full number (this phone is/has a DID).

When Calling out from the Cisco, I get the full number.

When I set up a an ARS and route pattern to test from the Avaya to Cisco and then out to the PSTN, I trace the call completing out the Avaya to the Cisco and I see on the Cisco the full digits being sent from the Avaya. But the call is being sent out with the main-number and not the associated DID info.

What do I need to look for, I think it's OK on the Cisco side, but the Avaya still seems to not sending something.

I think you want to set up your public numbering table to send the entire DID string to the Cisco. Sounds like you're just sending the extension and the circuit provider doesn't see that as valid so they're replacing it with the Main BTN.

How would I change this? I definetly want to have the DID's sent out their associated ANI info, but wold like to keep any non-DID sending out the main-number/BTN.

Go back to my previous post about the public numbering plan. Depending on the vintage of your server you will have some different commands. Go look for the proper form, analyze how it's been completed already, make some changes and do some test calls.
