Question for johnjohn (or anyone)on a previous thread.

JohnJohn , you say BPS stacked with 450 will give you QOS on the 450 , how does this work ? & which firmware versions needed for it .
Thanks in anticipation

Mucka,

The BPS has more advanced QoS support than the 450 and has additional port queues, 4 queues on 10/100 ports and 8 on the Gigabit MDA, whereas the 450 has 2 I believe. This enables better granularity when setting up your QoS.

PS I thought Widnes were unlucky.

We have BPS+450 stacks.

A Nortel engineer told me that we should only use the BPS for QOS. Meaning, plug in your IP telephony equipment into the BPS and let the 450 handle straight Data traffic.
