Site A Leeds Ver 2.1.31
Site B London Ver 2.1.27
VoIP calls occasionally lose audio, the line stays up, but neither party can hear anything, eventually audio is restored, I'm guessing it's a Quality of service issue, but should I upgrade London to 2.1.31, if so would you recommend upgrading it across the link?
Many thanks.

I would step the other site up the release 31. hmmm across the link, how keen are you?. It is supposed to work just fine however if for some reason the link fails you are in deep do do. If it is a 403 do not forget the interim upgrade. I have seen similar VOIP issues where units are not running the exact same firmware

Remote upgrades "Should" work without problem
Including the required upgrade to V2.99 1st.

I would still prefer to have an engineer nearby just in case...

The London site is only the Small Office, they have a Cisco doing the routing in Leeds, can't remember what's doing it London, I'm hoping another Cisco. They also have a Watch Guard Firebox at the Leeds site.

Regarding remote upgrade:
I have done a couple of (24/27) to (31) upgrades on IP403, without any problems, including the 2.99 step.

I think you will find your speech issues are a router problem you will need to look at that network. How are they implementing QOS on this?

[cheers]

I think you're right, Crashtest. I'm going to do the upgrade anyway, they have another issue which is fixed in 2.1.31.
Cheers
Alan
