QOS for CS1k

We are getting ready to convert our existing CS1k M to a CS1k E platform with the CPPM processor set. We are also about halfway though a conversion from 39xx series phones to 1140/50/65 IP sets. Our Network is Cisco with the cores being 65xx Catalysts systems with s/w rls 12.x. Most of our IDF network switches are the 45xx series.
My question is this, we want to implement QOS on the network and we were looking for some "best practices" or guidelines to implement.

Does anyone have any recommendations
