Hey there,
I'm reading and reading but I need to put this shout out to shorten the learning curve.
I have a 3560 switch connected to a 2801 router using a routed port on the switch to the 4 port switch card in the router.
I have users on 12 vlans including 12 ssid's on my access points.
What I need to do is make sure my "lucky" vlan push aside the traffic on other vlans only when "lucky" needs bandwidth.
My LAN is fast and it's not a problem. I'm only worried about internet traffic that leaves the routed switch port, goes through my router, and leaves out FE 0/1.
There's a few questions brewing:
1) What style of QoS is normally used?
2) Where is the standard place to apply QoS? On the switch or on the router? What interface is best?
3) I've been reading that I can make an ACL for a specific vlan and then ad a policy to it. Will that work?
I can't think of anything else I can help you help me with.
