Hallo All,
***Apologies for the double post, I have also posted this in the Linux server forum***
I have followed the instructions from
I now have a nice new mail server
In my testing phase I have given it the same host and domain names as my production server, the only difference is that I have given it an ip on the lan.
Can somebody help me with the following questions?
1). How would I go about forwarding mail from the main server to this one? Since they both have the same host and domain names and the only difference is the ip address, I cannot simply write a .procmailrc script for example.
2). When it becomes time to migrate, is there a nice way to copy the mails from /var/spool/mail/user (on the old box) to the mysql database on the new one?
Any help, pointers, urls etc much appreciated.

BIS,

It sounds like all you need to do is tell your router to forward your mail ports (25 for SMTP and 110 for POP3) to the other box's lan IP. It wouldn't hurt to give your boxes unique host names.

Well I would like to receive the mail at both boxes, so simply port forwarding wouldn't do it. I need some mechanism to get the mails copy/forwarded to the new box. How would I accomplish that by changing host name?
Many thanks for your answer by the way :)

Never mind, I solved this part.
