qmail smarthost authentication error

Dear All,
I just installed netqmail-1.0.6 and tried to route email via my provider using the following in /var/qmail/control/smtproutes (without the < >)

:<ISP IP address>:80 <username@mydomain.com> <password>

I have also patched the netqmail with qmail-smtproute-auth.patch

In the /var/log/qmail/current I receive authentication required error.

I configured smarthost with the same credentials on Exchange 2010 and I was able to send/receive emails externally without any errors.
