I'm running sendmail / pop3 on RedHat without any problems to provide mail services to our windows lan, but it's been pointed out to me that my setup is not very secure (even though I religiously keep things updated). I want to try Qmail and it's own pop3 server, and run the whole thing with ssl.
I'm having trouble filtering out all the info about Qmail into that which can be applied to my distribution. For instance, where can I find rpms that will work with RedHat 7.2? Do I need to remove sendmail completely, or can I just shut it down while I try qmail? Can I get mail (using MSOutlook) from my qmail pop3 server using ssl without being prompted for an ssl server certificate every time?

You don't have to remove sendmail, you can just shut it down while trying qmail. The easiest install I've found is using the install scripts at "Qmail the Easy Way" (search on qmtew and you'll find it) I'd suggest installing vpopmail and using the web interfaces for admin.
