qmail mail queue

i have a messed-up qmail install that is not able to send mails.

basically there is a website hosted on the server that has been internally sending mails for the qmail mta to transfer out. they have not gone anywhere and i need to extract some information from them.

does anyone know in what folder/file i can find my missing mails?

/var/qmail/queue/nn/mess where nn is a number from 0-23

grep -ir something * in /var/qmail/queue might, after a lot of searching, help you find the relevant bits of your messages.

DO NOT attempt to manually delete files from the queue!
