Qmail Mail Daemon how do i turn off

I am having a problem with qmail.
This is what is happening.
I don't have a box by the name of dbrooks@domain.com and every time a spammer sends mail to my domain and the box does not exist qmail sends back an e-mail telling the sender. and at times the sender is a bogus e-mail address and the mail is bounced back to me again and then sent from the daemon to the postmaster creating tons of queued mail.

Thanks for the tip i will start to try as soon as i build a backup system. This system is not plain vanilla we are running an application that interfaces with qmail. This application has its own server interface that our clients use over the web. I still don't know the configuration. I will post some more when they come up. But thanks for the direction.
