First of all the answer is NO.QSIG is a Global Signaling and control standards for(Private Integrated Network Exchange) PINX-to-PINX applications ,It uses ISDN Network Protocol,to link multiple PBX ,so it can works with PRI not T1.
What you mean PRI over the T,if you have a point to point T connection between Two locations, then you can program each one as PRI and it will work. Please explain what you mean.
What I am trying to do is get a Norstar system to talk to a NEC2400. If I can do this using Q.sig it may work better than what we have right now which is basically like a Tie line.
The two sites are connected via T1.
When we first installed the systems the Norstar could not do Q.sig. I have seen some info that is leading me to believe that maybe there is a card now, to put into the Norstar that will enable it to do Q.sig.
QSIG on norstar is only done using PRI with another Norstar (Mics 6.0 or higher) or Merdian op. with Norstar 5.0 or higher ,you will not be able to use QSIG between norstar and NEC for the time been, according to my knowledge.
This is not entirely correct. If the NEC switch has the ability to emulate a CO switch this is possible. I don't think it does, so in the end you are still correct.
Steve9999,
What problems are you having? You may be able to manipulate the channel configurations within the T1 to fix your problems. (ie. configure them as E&M trunks)
We have the two systems talking together but I was looking to be able to pass name display and 911 information (the DID number) back to the NEC2400 then out to our local service.
E & M Should be able to accomplish this for you. I have done his with systems other than Norstar but I assume you can. The only doubt I have is about passing name display.....
