I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this one:

why is it that when i try to look up info on some websites I get a blank page instead of the info I am looking for such as who owns the company?

Are you looking at the top level domain? If you do a search on a subpage, (ie you usually won't get anything. If that's not the case, who are you trying to whois? "The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us"
