I wasn't sure where to post this question, but here feels like a safe bet.
I'm considering on buying Encarta 2006 for my niece's PC.
However, I read somewhere that it needs to have .Net installed as well (not to mention what the reviewer considered "intrusive personal data collecting"). All I really want is a good reference tool, not fill my niece's PC with bloatware (I try to keep it as lean and clean as possible). I wanted to see if there was anyone here who had first hand experience installing the program. Is installing .Net a must, or can it be skipped?
Regards,
Ed.
