Does anybody know how to achieve the following :

I have a VLANd network with a DHCP server running on VLAN 1 which is also running PXE as part of RIS.

I have a client in VLAN 2 which I require to PXE boot into RDP(Altiris) which is running PXE services on VLAN2.

I can get the client in 2 to get an IP address from the DHCP server in 1 using IP helper. However, how can I ensure that it boots off the PXE server back in VLAN 1 (i.e. Altiris and not RIS). Turning off the RIS really isn't an option (if I do this, everything works fine) and I don't really want a seperate DHCP server in VLAN 2. Is there a way to control which PXE server a client in a particular subnet boots off ???

Any ideas ?

Thanks

I've never done this but I've heard other people have. During the install of RDP it does ask if you already have a PXE server installed. You can point to the RIS PXE server for your PXE services. Our servers are on their own subnet, so we just put our RDP server and PXE server on that server subnet. We lucked out.
