I tried a Dutch Windows 2K3 RIS server and a French Windows 2K3 RIS server. Both have default a US keyboard when the first screen of the "CIW" comes up. Is there any way to get this customized to a Belgian or French keyboard?

Once the login and password is correctly filled in, I can create a Dutch, English or French menu to select the images to install, but How can a normal user type in it's strong password on a wrong keyboard?

Regards

If you look in the shared directory on your ris server, you can see a REMINST\OSChooser folder. In that it gives a multilingual welcome screen named multilng.osc. I believe if you edit that in Wordpad or notepad to include only the languages that you need, it may fix your problem. Then i would bachup the original Welcome.osc and rename the multilng.osc to welcome.osc

Sorry,

That MultiLang.osc file is to select the language of the OS to install. So RIS will look into anathoer subdirectory but the keyboard seels to be "US" and related to the "NTLDR" image ?? which is send to the PC via the network.

in the \REMINST\OSChooser\i386 folder there is a winnt.sif file. Try changing the:

Sorry,

I tried that one also already. I changed it to "0000813" and even copied that winnt.sif also in the "French" subdirectory without success.

Have you found a solution? I have the same problem.

Greets,
Speridal

Sorry,

I don't have a solution yet.
I think it is hard coded in the small OS image which is loaded via the bootp (DHCP-RIS) server.
