PWS/MTS registry fix does not work. What now?

W98SE/ Off 97/FP2000
Could not install PWS. It looked exactly like the problem described in MS KB Q246081 (Messages such as: "Syscomgr caused IPF..", "Unknown error...MTS specific changes.. registry." etc.) But the fix (replacing mtssetup.dll with downloaded version) does not work. Symptoms remain same.
I tried running regclean in hopes of tidying registry- to no avail.

Any ideas pls?

Answering my own query (maybe it'll help someone).
The workaround was to run the ms-pws setup program twice. (You may have to remove all traces of previous installation attempts first, by running ms-pws setup and selecting 'remove all...'.) Choose 'Custom' installation and select only the MTS server first time. Then repeat, choosing PWS option second time.
