i have a POTS line that is programmed as a PVR key (built as private line route). I am having Verizon take this POTS line and put call forward on it so that I can then take an analog phone (which I have already connected to this POTS line, by the way), press *72 and forward it to a DID number in my PBX. Do i have to also out it as a private route? I am getting very confused so if the answer is staring me right in the face please have pity on me. thank you.

Your confused, I'm confused?

Is the call forward being set in the exchange or the PBX

it's being set in the CO i assume, since it's a verizon line and i forwarded the # using *72. I already pulled off the cross connect on the PVR TN so I think I'm fine. As long as it works (which, thankfully, it does) I can figure out how or why in the future. But thank you for your quick response.

I'm not sure if you can do this in your market, but can you have the line disconnected & the PSTN number set up as a phantom with call forward to your ddi.

well, the CO put forwarding on it, i punched the POTS line to an analog jack, presses *72 on the keypad, dialed my DID and now calls to the POTS line are forwarding to the DID. My only concern is the TN that this PVR key originally associated with this POTS line. Do I need to out the route? There's nothing on the TN anymore. I've probably confused you more!

Going on what your telling me, the line is no longer terminating calls on your PBX, right. If so, you can out the PVR key, trunk in LD 14 & then the route.
The reason I was mentioning having the line disconnected in the exchange & set up as phantom, (local product is called a CustomerLink), is that the cost for this only $20 as opposed to $50 for a POTS line.

I should've asked this question from the get-go and now I am afraid to hear the answer.
I am having Verizon remote call forward a POTS line to a DID in my PBX. Once they do that will I be able to control the DID? In other words, can I take that DID and put it on phone x and phone y and have it go to voicemail, etc. I hope the answer is yes. Otherwise I will be selling pencils on the street corner.

you can use your IDC table to convert your ddi into what ever you like or send it to a phantom or acd & point that where ever

please confirm the following. If Verizon points one of my POTS lines to one of my non-assigned DIDs and I set up my CDB to route calls to unassigned DIDs back to console, then the operator will get that call on an ICI key (provided I program one)? or will the call come in on a loop key? We don't have caller ID and these calls need to be answered differently. Thank you.

it should come up on the intercept key if this is where you have pointed calls in ld15

You do not have to out the route if you dont want to since the Pots line is no longer associated with the switch you can out it if you want to clean up your software. Either way it will not effect you.

i think i will just leave it and assign a new DN so i can use it later in life. Thank you.

Just an FYI. If Verizon has now made this an RCF, or remote call forward, every call it forwards for you is charged at whatever rate you have...say a dime a call, it may be different for you. Also, an RCF is limited to the number of "ports" you pay for. If it is a basic one port RCF then only one call at a time can be funneled through it. If you need to be able to take more than one call at a time, then you need to order more ports, just keep in mind, the bill for the calls will rise. $$$$$

If you can go to a punch down block and get dial tone on this line, then it is not an RCF, but a POTS line with call forwarding. Less complex.

Thank you Archtelecom. I already ordered five paths for it. I know it will be pricey but they insist on a 212 # and I have no DIDs that start with 212. And it is definitely RCFW'd.
