All calls are answered by the auto attendant. Callers dial the extension or press a selector code to transfer to an extension. When the call is transfered by the voicemail the display of the extension ringing only shows "voice messaging system" not the caller id. If I set a phone to ring immediate the caller ID shows. I have tried tweaking the the caller id setting and feature buttons but nothing seems to work. Very very stupid if so.

Is this just the way it is. customer very very unhappy.

How many rings before the Auto-Attendant picks up? It needs at least 2 rings for Caller ID information. Caller ID is transmitted on the leading end of the second ring cycle.

Here is an option:
Set the Auto Attendant rings to two [#506]
Set the lines on the extensions to delayed ring

This will allow the CID signal to come through, and AA will still answer the calls. The phones will not ring before AA answers.

EXCEPTION: if all the vm ports are busy, the phones set to delayed ring will ring until someone answers or a vm port opens and AA can answer. So, using this option may depend on how many vm ports you have versus how many lines and users there are.

What is the release of the ACS - because that will determine if CID on transfers will happen.

Just wanted to thank you folks for your help. Just needed to give the system more time to recieve the caller ID from the carier.

Changed it from 0 rings to 1 ring and that worked perfectly.
