Ok Ive been working on this ladys computer online as she has been having problems but for the life of me I cant figure out whats wrong. We have ran several scanners many times, adaware, hijackthis, spybot, trend micro anti spyware, ewido, housecall. Well I just recently had her run spysweeper on there and found 2 minor spyware. Shopathome and a cookie lol. Well the main problem of the computer is the address bar wont show up on internet explorer. We have tried checking and unchecking the box to show it on ie. We have cleaned the registry after doing scans. We have emptied temp folders. We ran sfc , I even had her uninstall sp2 and then reinstall it to ensure files are intact. Yet nothing will make the bar show back up. Im completely puzzled.

Anyone have any clues to what is causing this?

It's probably just off the edge of the display window. Make sure that the toolbars are unlocked - View, Toolbar... Then start dragging around the vertical dividers between sections, I bet you'll find it.

It will be sometime tommorow before I can get to hers again. I will post back with the results.

BadBigBen, Appreciate the program as it will make a nice addition to the list of programs I already have lol. Always on the lookout for new programs.

post a hijack this log, I have dealt with shopathome before but can't remember much about it!

ok here's a link! You might have to run the lsp fix to remove the bad LSP entry, you'd need to run hijack this to see what it is!

you'll need to run the LSPfix to repair winsock.

Launch the application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.
This is the dll in question, put the bad dll in here! move it to the right hand pane and hit "finish"

I can get rid of the shopathome in fact it should be already gone, her log is clean as ive went through it. Problem is solved now but If I run into any more problems ill give that a try.

U said that 'Well the main problem of the computer is the address bar wont show up on internet explorer.', but the main problem is that she is using Explorer!! I won't even work on someones' computer if they won't take my suggestion to use a different browser.

She does use firefox as well, but certain games she plays require internet explorer. She pays for tournaments that she plays in well certain ones only work with internet explorer. Trust me ive already got her using firefox 98 percent of the time. Me I dont mind working on computers I love doing it which is why I do it all the time. Think most of us will agree that is why we help on here that we love helping others.

I agree with you there EFreak...

besides that I love to work on computers aswell, for close to 24 yrs...
