Ok, it's a long story but I'll try to keep it short as can be.

I have a client writing a book. He uses Quark 5. He sends each chapter to me with all included images and whatnot and it works fine. I re-save to Quark 4 and open in ID 2 as I like it better for ebook output. Here is the problem. The pages are set up as facing (which I want for the print version). What I want to do is import the next chapter as it comes in and have it be placed right in line behind the first chapter.

Question 1: How do I import another Quark 4 doc? Place doesn't see it.
Question 2: I opened the second chapter and grabbed the pages from document layout. Dragged them into the first document and they wouldn't re arrange themselves to fit the layout already in place. How do I get them to behave and get in line correctly.

I would import each quark file as a separate ID document, and then "book" (file>new>book) the separate chapters rather than try to create one large document.

You can then export the book to PDF and all the files will be included.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

F1 is your friend! The help folder has everything you need to know. It is straight-forward.

The ID user manual also has step-by-step info. If you are using ID2.0, start at page 177 and you will be all set!
