I would like to roll a message in the statusbar below. How do I implement this in my code? Or where can I find some javascripts or dhtml scripts who do this for me, thx.

Can you also tell me how I use this command to put my text there and even let it glide over the bar

if you already have the code to rotate the message through, you can just use [tt]window.status=someString[/tt] or you can use [tt]self.status=someString[/tt] (like what jaredn said).

if you don't already have the code for it, javascript.internet.com has some great status bar messengers.

but remember, don't get to obsessed with the status bar, because it can get very annoying.

"but remember, don't get to obsessed with the status bar, because it can get very annoying." --> this, and as a user, i HATE when stuff are written in the status bar (this bar is supposed to show me the STATUS not any comment i don't care about !!) - but hey, i'm sure some users find it cool ...
