Can this be done?

Is there a simple way to put Goldmine into READONLY mode or do I have to change the permissions of every user?

It's not possible to just tick an option to put GoldMine in read-only mode.

To cause users to not be able to edit or delete any information on a contact record, however, you can make them very limited users in their user properties and take ownership (and maybe even add curtaining) of the records in the database for yourself (or an administrative user group).

None of this is done with a single, simple option, however.

check ou tthe Frontrange support site for a technical document, #362 (I think) on globally replacing the ownership and curtaining level for contact records..

Go to File|Configure|Users settings|Properties to tweak user options. i'd suggest getting one user the way you want it and thereafter CLONE new users.

And/or enlist the help of a good GM VAR to take care of this stuff properly for you.. It'd be a real kicker to find out, 6 months from now, that you'd missed something and left a large security hole for the un-trusted users....
