I've managed to export a file from fireworks into the 'Clipboard' file (following the manual's instructions)so I can put the images into Dreamweaver.

but when in Dreamweaver, (still following the manual's instructions)it just won't seem to let me do it.

Does anyone have any ideas where I might be going wrong?

ya export the images to the site folder (usually an image folder within the root) and then insert image. [soapbox]
sleep is good

Check the file you are trying to bring into dreamweaver. Bring the HTML file in.

I don't know about exporting to a clipboard file. Try exporting to a Dreamweaver HTML file, with the images in a subfolder, then import that same Fireworks HTML file into Dreamweaver. Works like a charm. :)

throw away the manual!

if you want interactive images- then export html and images- send save them in the same folder you are trying to put them in, then select the table the images are in ... copy and paste into the new page.(or you can use - insert fireworks image)

for static images export to your images folder, then (control alt I)(or insert image) to place the image. Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

Kindly note that i have read your dissussion question session in detail and i want to put a question on this forum Please note that i am in a deep trouble.

I have made a site in Dreamweaver by using "Layers" and prviewed it in I.Explorer. and it worked terrificly but when i previewed it in Netscape 4.5 all the layers got messed up.
Kindly let me know that how can i fix this problem, so that my site appears orderly in Netscape as well.

Awaiting your reply.

Kind regards,

Rizwan Khalid

Rizwan,
There is no way to get around the differences in how IE and NN render layers. Your best bet is to organize your page using tables, which are pretty consistent between browsers.

is a nice site for checking your code when you're finished. Unfortuntly as mentioned there is often no way to save your site from the IE vs NN or even Mozilla and Opera. The best way is to keep it as simple as possible, don't rely on using pixels for positioning and finding a good template and sticking to it.

good luck!
